I know in past posts I’ve stressed the importance of finding and exploring what works for you when it comes to your natural hair journey. I still believe in that. What I am sharing in today’s post is some hard limits that I’ve found do my tresses no good in bypassing or just plain ignoring.
Comrades, The mission you are about to undertake is not for the faint of heart. Those natural haired veterans who transitioned and joined this natural haired platoon long before you will reiterate that this aspect of your hair journey will, at the best of times, fill you with cold dread and have you losing hope in all that is good in this world. When I decided to go natural back in 2012 it was because I was done charring my scalp to smitherins by applying relaxers to straighten my hair every 6 – 8 weeks. I hated visits to the hair salon because those visits usually ended in pain…lots of it. Now I know first-hand that the internet is littered with a gazillion articles and videos on how to look after your natural hair. However, my natural hair posts on this here blog, going forward, will chronicle my personal experience and what worked for me on this journey – I repeat, what worked for me.
