I’m not a big fan of events scheduled after 3:00pm on a Sunday because they interfere with my nap schedule. This past Sunday, however, FOMO (fear of missing out) and curiosity won the day as I found myself attending my first “Unplugged Zimbabwe” music festival.
Family, friends and frenemies alike congregated at Palm Estates in Greyston Park for some summertime frolicking to some easy-going, local musical accompaniment.
So ICYMI (in case you missed it), find out what the cool kids were doing this Sunday while you were napping…

Picture perfect views and sublime weather.
Family friendly entertainment for the younger festival goers.
Jacaranda lilac in the background, debonair purple in the foreground.
Lots of camping chairs, picnic blankets and cooler boxes in attendance..
Bubbles is mandatory *serious face*
My favourite act from the line up: Munyaradzi Nyamarebvu & Roots Kalimba
The gents reinforcing what the festival’s #TheLarneyLife hashtag is about.
The ideal and easy-going way to round off your weekend.
“Strumming our pain with [her] fingers”
The sun may set but the festivities continue.
To keep yourself in the loop make sure you are following Unplugged Zimbabwe on their social media platforms (see links below) and here’s hoping I catch you at their next event, scheduled for Saturday 31 October 2015.
It’s a date!
